The Thought ...... Shapes at the Eden Project
The below image was taken at Eden Project, Cornwall, from the footbridge. This image shows the delicate dooms that look like large bubble wrap and the roof in the foreground like spikes. I really liked the shapes (dome and the spikes) and the contrast between the white domes and the black roof in the foreground.
The final image has been turned into black and white to enhance the effect and to show the tonal range of this image.

The Thought ..... Street Photography ..... Basingstoke at night
The below photograph was taken in Basingstoke late on evening. The atmosphere was very clam, with the street lights lighting up the high street and deep blue sky in the background.
The camera has been hand held with the ISO increased to avoid camera shake.
The final image has been adjusted in Lightroom to enhance the colours as they seemed that evening.

I took the below photograph in Leicester High Street. I really liked the shop sign on the upper window the way the shark is looking through the window. The shark on the upper sign on it's own would not have made an impact, I decided to add the sign below with the name of the shop.

Tip of the week
The mountain & cloud symbol stands for Landscape mode. Using this mode your camera will select the smallest aperture to maximise depth-of-field. Your image will be sharp both in the foreground and in the background. As the name suggests, use this mode to take landscape photographs.

Behind the Scenes - 02.12.2015
In the 'Behind The Scene' I will talk about my work by giving an insight on how I took that shot. (The lighting, the set-up
and how to set the mood to get the right shot).
Light is the most important element in photography. The
subject has to be lit well to give it the three dimensional feel and most
importantly to enhance the mood if that’s what you as a photographer wish to
achieve. I love dramatic lighting and that’s how I light my subjects.
Basic lighting for a portrait is to position the main light
to the right side of the camera pointing downwards from the model’s face. At
this stage look at how the light falls on your subject – look out for shadows
under the nose and under the lips.
You can add a fill-in light on the other side of the face at
a lower power to fill-in the shadows.
However I have just used one light on the
below photograph, the main light is positioned approximately 40 degree from the
camera.

Below is the lighting diagram for the next image that I
took. The camera and the model both remain at the same position. I have only changed
the angle of light in order to achieve the desired look.

The model is looking towards the light, with her head slightly down, so the hair also catches the light. The main light is positioned at approximately 45 to 55 degree from the camera. The light stand has been moved slightly higher in order for the hair to catch the highlights.
The final image and the setting that I used: - F-stop f6.3, Exposure time 1/60, ISO 320.

Modelling Portfolio
Photographs of models taken in the studio for their modelling portfolio.
We also assisted models to build their portfolio. In this 2 hour photo session, the model gets 3 outfit changes, we can also advise the choice of outfits and the make-up to suit the style. Previously we assisted many models in choosing their outfits, hair styles and make-up. This photo shoot takes place on location or indoors.
