Simiple steps to enhance your photographs

This week's quick tips are editing your RAW images in Lightroom. Always photograph and edit RAW images not jpegs, (RAW files record more detail than Jpegs).

The below photograph is from the series of my personal projects which has been edited in Lightroom.

Camera: Sony a6000
Aperture: f11
Shutter speed: 1/100
ISO: 200

Lightroom adjustments:
Temp: 5691
Contrast: increased to +12
Shadows: decreased to -12
Blacks: decreased to -7
Added graduated filter to darken the sky
Burn tool used to bring out the reflections in the water

Why editing is so important

I always shoot in RAW, however it is important to edit your final images. Below are the two images that show before and after editing.

A quick update

This year has been quite busy with lots of things happening with my photography and other ventures.

I truly enjoy working with people, I get to meet so many different personalities, which is always inspiring for me. As you know I work as professional photographer along side with the following things:

I run my own camera club every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month
I am the Official Photographer for 'The Pink Place, Basingstoke' and the 'Tadley Roundabout' (I provide my photographic services for free)
I am the lead Ambassador for 'Business Biscotti, Basingstoke'
I am also a Trustee for a local charity shop
I have now recently become the Regional Organiser for the 'Royal Photographic Society'

I will be blogging twice a week from next month with my new work, tips and techniques on photography. I will also be keeping you updated with my ventures.

See all soon. 😊
